Love Mechine

Love Mechine, mix medium
In this work, I tried to intensify the experience of touch, the most often neglected of the five senses, when many memories related to touch are stored in the subconscious. I followed my subconscious and chose a large selection of cozy materials that tactilely respond to physical contact and subtle emotions in intimate relationships.
Inside the installation are colored lights and a kaleidoscope through the holes on both sides. By turning the holes, the audience can see a psychedelic scene. This is the effect that I created for them to fall in love. However, this is an experience of illusion. After interacting with this installation, one’s desire for love is no longer instinctive and individualized. Instead, it is organized, mechanized, and collective. The instinct of desire is then replaced by the desire machine.
